This picture is the epitome of why everyone needs a quilt or two in their life. That pinwheel quilt that my little snuggle bug is all wrapped up in was the first quilt that I started and finished in 2021. Most of my quilts eventually leave me (either gifted away or sold), but I always intended to keep this one for me instead of selling it. I made it with the intention of it being my very own “TV watching, snuggle quilt”.
It doesn’t look like I succeeded in keeping it for myself because my little man is always stealing it. He’s told me multiple times that the pinwheel quilt is his quilt. Quilts are definitely works of art, and displaying them as such is certainly an appropriate use. But, for me the ultimate use for a quilt is to be loved, used, and enjoyed. As the maker of the pinwheel quilt pictured above, seeing that my family uses and loves this quilt validates all the hours of work I logged for this one.
Fun Fact about this quilt: It’s actually not as complicated at is it initially appears. The pattern by Missouri Star Quilt Company is super fun to make and uses a disappearing nine patch block.
