Scrap Buster! – January Ninja Star

Scrap Buster! – January Ninja Star

My January Ninja Star pattern released last week! You can get it HERE. This is one of six patterns I will be releasing based on the blocks from my first ever block of the month from 2024, my Ninja Star Sampler. You can check out my post from last week for more information about this pattern.

For this post I want to talk a little bit about the scrappiness of my scrappy January Ninja Star version. I thinks it’s fun to look at my scrappy quilts and try to remember which quilts I originally used each of the fabrics in. For this quilt, all of the high volumes and some of the low volumes were from a layer cake I got from Missouri Star Quilt Company (affiliate link), “Robo Boogie” by Sugaridoo Quilt Studio. I also used a lot of scraps/leftovers for the low volume foreground. ALL of the fabrics in this one are from Benartex fabric lines. Here’s a list:

  1. Both of my Forkledoodle cover quilts – I used fabrics from “UpWords” by Kimberly Einmo and “Classic Keepsakes” in white by Kanvas Studio
  2. My Nine Carat Quilt – I used a piece from “On Dragonfly Winds” by Ann Lauer
  3. My first ever pattern that I wrote for Benartex, Rella’s Diamonds – I used a piece from “Gratitude and Grace” by Pat Sloan.

It’s fun to take a good look at your scrap quilts, look at the fabrics you have in there, and see if you can remember the original projects that created those scraps. Try it with some of your own quilts sometime!

That’s all I’ve got today!

As always, thank you for taking the time to read my blog!
