Some of you may know that I was super blessed to have been chosen as a creator for Missouri Star Quilt company! They have been super generous in provding me with awesome giveaways and supplies for projects, making it possible for me to pass on even more free projects ideas and patterns to you. Now they have their March Pattern Madness going on. The other creators and I were given the option to choose our favorite MSQC pattern. I was gifted a paper copy of the pattern and some lovely fabrics to make the quilt top with. But what does all this mean for you?
What’s in it for you?
You can also recieve the FREE pattern! I will be doing a FREE quilt along for my pattern choice, “Framed Pinwheels”. The quilt along will run from March 31 – May 18. You can view the schedule on my Quilt Alongs page.
When I say this quilt along is FREE, it is literally as FREE as I can make it! When you sign up, you’ll get an email from me. In the email there will be codes for the FREE pattern AND a code for a one time 20% discount as well as the schedule for the quilt along. I’d love to have you join us! But don’t wait to sign up. My codes are only good through March. So, I’ll be closing the signups at the end of the day on March 30. SIGN UP HERE
Each week during the quilt along, I’ll have a new blog post and add one or more videos/helpful tutorials to my YouTube playlist for the quilt along. There will also be prizes!
Why did I choose the “Framed Pinwheels” pattern?
I’ve actually made this pattern before. Back in January of 2021, I decided I wanted to make a quilt for myself. I’d made a bunch of quilts by then but never one for me. I chose a layer cake with lots of blues and yellows and pops of red. In theory, my favorite color is green, but there is just something about blue and yellow quilts that I can’t resist! My daughter made fun of my color choice something about all primary colors like a kindergartner. Oh well, my quilt/my rules, so I’ll act like a kindergartner if I want to =). I was pretty proud of myself with this one. I tried quilting paisleys for the first time. It did not go so well, but I ended up making up another quiting design that I’ve used in a few quilts. You can hear more about this on my “Quilt Tours” video on Paisleys
It took me two weeks to make the quilt because I was still working full time as a school nurse at that point. I love this quilt, but unfortunately my plan to make a quilt for myself didn’t work out. My son, the little SnuggleBug was only 9 at the time and loved (still loves) quilts! He promptly stole this quilt. Right away, he said it was his quilt and that he’s taking it with him when he moves out of the house.

I pointed out multiple times this quilt LITERALLY has my name on it, but he was not deterred. Anyway, he won; it is his quilt instead of mine afterall. He does let everyone else use it when he isn’t using it… very generous of him to do that. He says he’s going to let me keep the quilt that I make along with my quilt along, but this is not the only quilt he’s stolen from me. So, I’m not sure he can actually be trusted.

That’s all I’ve got today!
Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for you today. I hope you’ll join my quilt along!
