Week 5 starts today! We are half way finished with our quilt along. I have really been loving seeing everyone’s progress post! This week we will be making 10 more blocks. This is our last week to be making 10 blocks. After that we will make 8 blocks on weeks 6 and 7 and put our quilt top together during Week 8.
All of the tips for making blocks were discussed in the Week 2 post. You can also go straight to the following tip pages:
Cutting
Chain Piecing
Pressing
All of the blocks are the same, so no need to rehash all of that. I am making an Option 2 quilt and an Option 5 quilt. Check out my Week 1 post to see all of the options. These two quilts have a very different feel with my Option 2 being the soft and pretty one with the Option 5 being the bright and fun one. These are a good example of how the shades of the different colors can completely change the feel of a quilt. Both sets of blocks use blue, green, red/pink, and yellow shades, but they look nothing alike.
This is a good example of how fun it is to play with colors. Which set of blocks do you like best?
Recap
– Our find it game:
See if you can find my directional mistake in my original Checke Cakes quilt pictured below. If you find it, contact me. It’s worth a coupn code for 30% off all the patterns in my shop. The coupon is good for the duration of this quilt along.
– My next Quilt Along
The next quilt along will use my Sound Waves Baby Quilt pattern. It will run from October 23 – November 20. The quilt top goes together super quick. We will have it finished in Week 2. This will give me a little more time for some posts on helping you finish your quilt.
