The quilt that I get the most requests for is a simple basic squares quilt that uses lots of floral prints. I’ve made several versions of this quilt. Each is a little different than the others so that they are still one of a kind.
I have a video on my youtube channel of me demoing the cutting for the squares in this quilt. They are 10″ squares and perfect for cutting from 42″-44″ wide fabric. Please note that the video is meant to help you, especially for beginners, but I am not a professional youtuber. So, laugh if you must, but please be nice.
For this one, I used free motion loops in shiny pink thread. I was happy with how the pink loops and the crinkles turned out on this one. I love a crinkly quilt! Check out this video from my Instagram if you want to see a clip of me quilting this one.
I’ve typically used a solid background on this particular quilt, but the client chose to use that yellow floral print from the front as the backing. I love how it turned out!
I posted a shot of this binding on a quilting facebook page. A few people asked me about how I do my binding. Check out this post on my favorite binding technique. I love using decorative stitches for the top stitch on my binding. This one is a serpentine stitch that I did with my walking foot.
This quilt is available as a custom order in my Etsy Shop.
Another thing I get asked about a lot is my labels. So here’s the information you need on those.
They are custom made by Melanie at Meander + Make. Melanie was nice enough to give me a coupon code to share with you. Use the code SNUGGLEBUGSTITCHING for 10% off!
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!
I hope you enjoyed it.
If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a comment or email me. I’d love to hear from you.
Happy quilting!
So, so pretty! What is the fabric. Relaxing just looking at it. Thank you
Thank you! I’m glad you like it! I’ve made several versions of this quilt, and the florals definitely grow on you. The fabrics in that one are from Hobby Lobby.
