This one is my cover quilt for my new pattern “Dublin Fancy”. It just hit my shop a few days ago. I’ve been wanting to write a pattern with pinwheels for a while now, and this one has lots of pinwheels to satisfy my pinwheel tooth. There’s also lots of super cute tiny cubes, but the cube blocks go together a lot quicker than you might think.
I had a hard time deciding on the name for this one. I was torn between “Jelly Cubes” and “Dublin Fancy”. I took votes from my daughter, my mom, my sister, and my husband. I got three votes for “Dublin Fancy” and one vote for “I Don’t Care”. Can anybody guess who voted for “I Don’t Care”? Someday, I’m gonna name a pattern after him, and call it “I Don’t Care”. My daughter said she voted for “Dublin Fancy” because the quilt “doesn’t look very jelly”. I’m not really sure what “very jelly” looks like, but at least she chose one of the options she was given.
Can you guess how I came up with the name “Dublin Fancy”? Can you guess how I came up with my alternate name, “Jelly Cubes”? Let me know in the comments if you think you have either of them figured out.
This one has a BONUS project!
When I made my “Dublin Fancy” quilt top, I had some left over units. They were so pretty that I didn’t want to waste them. So, I didn’t. I went ahead and wrote another pattern to use those leftover units. I did not take votes on this one and just decided to call it “Sound Waves Baby Quilt”.
I decided this little baby quilt needed some super dense quilting and a scrappy binding. This pattern had four jelly roll strips left over, so I decided to work them into the binding of the baby quilt.
