Quilt Reveal: Pumpkins ‘N Patches #3

Quilt Reveal: Pumpkins ‘N Patches #3

I blinked again, and another year is almost complete! Time is a THIEF! I can’t believe it’s already November, well into fall. So, this will probably be the last fall quilt I complete in 2021.

This is another quilt I made from my first quilt pattern, “Pumpkins ‘N Patches”. This one is the easiest of the three easy layouts included in this pattern. Number One has generic fall colors, and Number Two has Halloween colors without the cutesy Halloween prints. They both have their own distinct color scheme, and Number Three is no different. I decided to go with a softer color scheme on this one, and it ended up reminding me of my favorite season, summer. The pumpkins are distinctly fall, but the shades of yellow and green seem like summer. I’ve been describing this one on my Instagram as fall in Alabama. Fall that looks like summer – it just can’t seem to make up it’s mind.

My weird, meandering, paisley-ish quilting

I’m not really sure what to call the quilting design I used on this one. The first time I used it was in this quilt. At the time, I was actually going for something more like a tightly packed paisely, but my hands had other ideas. They just kept wanting to meander and echo. Not what I intended at the time, but still pretty, so I decided to just go with it.

For this one I used the same weird, meandering, paisely-ish quilting. I even used the same color thread. The only difference in how the quilting turned out in this one and that pinwheel quilt is that I did it on purpose this time.

I’m really pleased with how well this one crinkled up. I love some crinkles!

I actually did have some orange fabric to use for the binding on this one, but I decided to pull some green from the nine patches instead. I found that pastel green flannel in my stash, and I knew that it had to be the binding for this one. It keeps with my fall that looks like summer theme. The pastel green reminds me of summer, but flannel reminds me of a soft warm shirt on a cool fall day. In my typical fashion, I used a decorative stitch for the binding.

I used my custom made “Pumpkins ‘N Patches” quilt labels for this one. I got them from Melanie at Meander + Make. She was able to put that graphic from my pattern onto the label. I’ve bought a lot of labels from her, and they are great! She was nice enough to give me a coupon code to share with readers. So, go check out her shop at Meander + Make and use the code SNUGGLEBUGSTITCHING for 10% off!

This quilt, Pumpkins ‘N Patches Number Two, and the pattern are all available in my Etsy Shop.
