Partial Dreams Quilt Along: Week 5

Partial Dreams Quilt Along: Week 5

So, it’s June now! This year is flying by. I’ve been busy with back to back quilt alongs; time flies when you’re having fun! Week 5 of our quilt along starts today! We’re going to be making 6 blocks this week. If you haven’t signed up for the quilt along yet, you can do that HERE. I’d love to have you join us! Stragglers are always welcome in my events. So, you can still sign up as long as the quilt along is still going. After you sign up, your welcome email will contain the pattern, schedule, and a run down of the extra fabrics options I added to make this quilt along more inclusive.

Just like last week, since this quilt has the same block repeated throughout the quilt, there isn’t new information every week. This gives me time to do some fun stuff in the quilt along. Last week, I featured progress pictures sent in by my quilt alongers. It had lots of pretty pictures. I LOVE seeing your quilt pictures. As a pattern designer, seeing your pattern designs as an actual quilt is THE BEST. It’s already pretty fun to see my own quilts, knowing I designed both the pattern and the quilt. There may have been a little bit (read a lot) of crying while Mr. SnuggleBugStitching sat beside me and helped me learn how to use the drafting software that I use for drawing the diagrams in the patterns. It actually wasn’t too hard to learn since I was drawing diagrams within an hour. I may have been being a little dramatic, but Mr. SnuggleBugStitching did help a lot. Going from having no idea how to draw diagrams on the computer to being able to design quilt patterns is something I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do. So, if making my own quilts from my own patterns is fun, seeing the quilts other people make from my patters is even better!

For this week, since there isn’t any new quilt along information, I thought I’d talk about some of the other FREE stuff I have on the schedule for this year. I have a new FREE pattern coming your way next week! It will be available for you to download on June 10! It’s called Towers and Tumbles. I was thinking about my Sound Waves Baby Quilt pattern when I designed this for my spin on a classic easy pattern.

I’ll also be doing a Summer WIP it challenge starting on June 20th. Basically, try to finish 3 WIPs this summer, 1 per 30 day-ish block of time. Anyone who joins will also get my FREE printable WIP tracker document. I’d also like to feature some of your WIPs in blog posts and do a few posts about some of the steps that trip people up. You can check out the schedule and a copy of my WIP tracker document below. Sign up for this event HERE. I’d love to have you join us.

The last FREE event I have slotted for this year is a mini block of the month. It will run from August through the end of the year. More details and signups coming soon! I do have a full year BOM going on right now as well, but I can be an unstable overachiever at times. So, I thought why not do a FREE mini one as well. We have half of the blocks for my Ninja Star Sampler Block of the month sent out already. I’d love to have you join us for that one. You can join as long as the even is still going on. Your welcome email will contain links to all of the blocks you missed. You can get more info on that one and register HERE.

I’m loving this QAL. Getting excited to see my blocks come together. I’m going away for a week so hoping I can get at least one of my quilt tops. I’m looking forward to your next QAL.
