Partial Dreams Quilt Along: Week 4

Partial Dreams Quilt Along: Week 4

Week 4 of our quilt along starts today! We’re going to be making 6 blocks today. If you haven’t signed up for the quilt along yet, you can do that HERE. I’d love to have you join us! Stragglers are always welcome in my events. So, you can still sign up as long as the quilt along’s still going. After you sign up, your welcome email will contain the pattern, schedule, and a run down of the extra fabrics options I added to make this quilt along more inclusive.

Since this quilt has the same block repeated throughout the quilt, there isn’t new information every week. This gives me time to do some fun stuff in the quilt along, like featuring progress pictures from some of my quilt alongers. So, this post will have a lot of pictures. I like to do a post heavy on quilt pictures every now and then. I could definitely be wrong, but I assume that everyone who is taking the time to read my quilting blog enjoys looking at quilt pictures.

Progress Pictures from my Quilt Alongers

The quilt I’m making with you during this quilt along will be my third Partial Dreams Quilt. For all of my versions of this quilt, I used a light background and more colorful foreground. You can see pictures of my first two quilts HERE. This seams to be what most people are doing for this quilt along. I seriously considered making two Partial Dreams Quilts during this quilt along. I wanted to make one with the opposite color scheme: darker background and lighter foreground. BUT, I have a lot of stuff going on… Luckily some of my quilt alongers are using louder and busier “backgrounds” so I can show you some different color ways. Both look great! So, let’s look at some pictures!

Check out the two pictures below. These blocks are by @Brentex99. She used some Tula Pink fabrics for the center squares highlighting both the foreground AND the background. I love the fussy cuts!

In the next picture, we see lots of pretty blocks from @alletaquilts. She cut some layer cake squares down to size for the center squares and used fat quarters for the strips. This is another great example of using louder and busier prints for the “background”.

@bikergrammy is making two quilts for this quilt along! She made one in baby quilt size using a fun vintage toys print for the center squares and surrounded them by strips with bold colors and a subtle print. This one is SEW cool! Her other quilt uses the traditional lighter background. Her foreground strips have a cool 1800’s reproduction look that I’m loving.

I love the brown and teal color scheme in these blocks by @judit.posch! With the two beige prints, her blocks have a few cool layout options!

The next blocks by @frankenboll use fat quarters from Deco Glo by Guicy Guice and a white on white print for the background. I always love a good white on white print!

Jan @curiosity_creates_ made these colorful blocks. Don’t those colors just make you happy?!

The next block uses what I like to call louder low volumes. It’s a white fabric but the pretty purple print is a lot more noticeable compared with the low volumes that have lighter and plainer designs. This block by @cureiocity.arts.quilting is really pretty, and I’m excited to see more!

Debbie got a jump on things and is already quilting her Partial Dreams Quilt! I love the panto she chose for this one. It goes great the simple desing of my pattern!

How fabulous are all these blocks my quilt alongers are making! As a pattern designer, it is SEW COOL to see what other quilters make with my patterns. Now that we’ve seen some awesome pictures, here’s the recap stuff: labels, links to all the quilt along blog posts so far, and prize info.

Thanks Judit! And thank you for sending in pictures of your blocks. Quilt alongers are the most important part of the quilt along!
